Engineer Ned Snead's statement can also be found at www.sneadresearch.com:
"The next generation may find water to be a bigger problem than electric power. Even in the world's richest nations, the water is not always drinkable, but we have the power to clean it up.
Most of our power comes from coal and oil, which have an undesirable effect on the air we breathe.
"For more than fifty years we have known how to make electricity and fresh water from atomic power. We believe that the time has come to take full advantage of this new source of energy. The safest atomic power plant in the world is operating at Tsinghua University. It is called a Pebble Bed Reactor.
"We believe this system can be designed small enough to be carried on a barge to sell electricity and drinkable water to cities on the ocean and rivers all over the world.
"We hope to persuade the engineers at Texas A&M and Tsinghua Universities to form a Chinese company to build ten floating power and water plants to demonstrate their safety and profitability.
"This could become the biggest business opportunity since petroleum replaced whale oil."
